Most Recent Rant! Sent Friday 8/31/2001
I'm sorry to send another rant in such a short amount of time, but what can I say. They did it to me again. I swear, someone if following me around just stealing my ideas.

For those of you who are unaware, I have been writing a book. I've been working on it for years. It is a coming of age story about a man in his 20s named Erik Beck. Erik has it all, and loses it all.

Through a set of extreme circumstances he gets it back, at a trememdous price. Before he can learn to accept his good fortune, he manages to lose it all again through his own actions. The story takes place both now and 2,000 in the future.

As a result it is full of forward looking inventions, many of which are being stolen today.

Just last night at dinner with my mother and two of my sisters someone mentioned that taxi cabs will soon be using credit card swipes instead of cash. A great idea, and not dissimmilar to the prop I called an AutoCab in my book. Today someone sends me a link to an article talking about the next step beyond that. And from there it is an even shorter jump to the AutoCab.

It just burns my ass!
