Why do people think that prostitution is the
“World’s
Oldest Profession”? No
one knew what that dirty old gal was up to until she told someone, or at least
sent out the signals. And if that’s the case than obviously advertising is
truly the world’s oldest profession. And who would have the power to
influence people into thinking that it was prostitution; advertisers of
course.
A physician, an engineer, and an attorney were discussing who among them
belonged to the oldest of the three professions represented. The physician
said, "Remember, on the sixth day God took a rib from Adam and fashioned Eve,
making him the first surgeon. Therefore, medicine is the oldest profession."
The engineer replied, "But, before that, God created the heavens and earth
from chaos and confusion, and thus he was the first engineer. Therefore,
engineering is an older profession than medicine."
Then, the lawyer spoke up. "Yes," he said, "But who do you think created all
of the chaos and confusion?"
Is there more than one way to skin a dog? And what kind of society were we
living in that the expression: “There is more than one way to skin a cat” was
accepted as a simple truth, and not an admission of animal cruelty?
Why is Tic-tac-toe always played with an X and an O? Why not X and Y, 1 and
2, A and B, or any other characters. I think that we are in a rut with X and
O.
