 They go out of their Way to Stick It To Me So there I am barreling along, minding my own business in my model year 2000 Honda Accord. And you know I'm just remembering from when I was a kid and everyone said that by the year 2000 we would all be driving flying cars. Well its a Japanese car and everyone knows that the Japanese are innovators, so I'm looking for the right button to press to make the thing fly. Naturally I'm getting distracted by all this looking around so I put the car on cruise control. Which I think is one of human kind's greatest inventions. I'm doing an easy 75mph. I've hit every button, turned every knob and flipped every switch to no avail. Then I find this lever at the bottom of the steering column. And when I shift it, my steering wheel unlocks and I can move it up and down. SO THERE IT IS! I figure this must be the flying control, just like on an airplane. But I'm not taking off. It must be my speed. Again with the cruise control, I'm ticking it up, 75 to 80, nothing. 80 to 85, nothing. 85 to 90, nothing, 90 to 95, nothing. Then I discover that my cruise control only goes up to 95!! What kind of a ripoff is that? But before I can run into a whole rant on that I figure, okay, so it only goes to 95, but what kind of an idiot drive their car at 95mph with the cruise control on? Of course the answer to that is obvious now, but in the heat of the moment... But before I can even get off the ground I run into the speed trap pictured above. Thus once again proving that they are always trying to stick it to me!! Billo |
